CHAMPIONING INDIVIDUALISM
equality and diversity
York Lodge welcomes staff and residents from different race, communities, backgrounds, faiths, sexual orientation, and gender and gender identity.
All staff are trained in Equality and Diversity as part of their initial training and are expected to refresh this training every 2 years. Discrimination of any kind is not tolerated and any evidence of this can result in disciplinary action.
On assessing new residents into the home we use a holistic approach to identify not only mental and physical health needs but also the social needs of the person and how we can support them in fulfilling their spiritual needs. We wholly encourage and endorse individuality and respect the individuals choices of how they wish to live their lives.
