Worthing is home to 100,200 people (2008 census). It is located on the Western Sussex coast, England and is 46.5 miles from London and 14.5 miles from Brighton. As a small seaside Worthing town, lies on a well maintained pebble beach, pier (Pier of the Year 2019 no less), amusements, rock and ice cream shops and a lido.

The town centre boasts 3 cinemas, 2 theatres, a bowling alley, a snooker hall, 2 bowling greens and the brand new leisure complex and swimming pool "Splash Point" a short walk from the main shops, as well as a whole host of shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and cafés.

Worthing is also home to over 200 care homes and despite only having 6 homes that specialise in mental health for the under 65's, it is home to a very good mental health service and psychiatric in-patient unit (Meadowfield), which is based at Swandean Hospital north of the town centre on the A27. York Lodge is also situated in walking distance to Arun house (A mental health consultation unit) and Shepherd House (psychiatric Unit).

Therefore York Lodge is perfectly situated for us to support our residents psychiatric needs and support them in accessing the local community and amenities.
